What happens if I have to leave for an emergency at home?

Air or sea transport can be arranged to return you to Nhulunbuy. There is one flight heading east in the morning and west in the evening.

What emergency arrangements are there if there is an accident?

Air and sea evacuation are available, including two helicopters based in Nhulunbuy. There is also a first class General Hospital in Nhulunbuy with a helipad.

How can people communicate with me in an emergency?

We will provide you with a kit on confirmation of your booking that will include all contact telephone numbers. There are several public telephones on Bremer Island (Banu Banu) and we have a satellite phone. There is limited mobile (cell) phone coverage on Banu Banu

What’s the best time of year to visit you?

Each season has its own attraction. The best climate is between March and December, but in the monsoon season, the fishing is better.

My partner wants to go fishing but I just want to chill out during the day, reading and swimming. Can I do this?

Our standard operating procedures are that guests are accompanied at all times by one of our guides for safety reasons.

Can I just go to an island and be left alone?

Do your guides have medical training?

Yes - St John Ambulance first-aid certificate.

How do I access the internet and retrieve and send emails?

The best course of action is to inform your friends and associates that you are heading to one of the more remote parts of the world and you will be incommunicado.

Nhulunbuy has appropriate facilities including broadband.

If you are that keen, you could sit on the hill at Banu Banu with your laptop and mobile (cell) phone. Mind you, we will laugh and point and you will find it difficult removing the sand and pieces of bait from your keyboard.

What dangers are there in this part of the world?

Normal tropical precautions need to be taken. In addition there are crocodiles, sharks and dangerous jellyfish in the area at certain times of the year. Our guides are trained and aware and most solicitous of your safety.

Can I drink the water?

The water in Nhulunbuy is arguably the best tasting in the world, purified and emanating from eons old aquifers, however on the islands and during voyages, we will supply you with bottled water.

What sort of food can I expect?

Fish, fish and fish with a bit of meat, salad and veggies to break the monotony. Our specialty is the big mack(erel).

Seriously you can expect a balanced diet of protein and vegetables. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know.

I want to organize a management bonding exercise - what’s the maximum group size?

We can take up to ten individuals, eight of whom can fish at the same time. We do not have a whiteboard, but plenty of sticks and sand.

Can I finish off with a game of golf?
